Our Community Impact
Supporting children in need since 2018
Every child deserves a chance to thrive. But many children living in Ottawa are held back by poverty.
Established in 2018, Capital Prosperity Foundation has one goal: to help children in need, when they need it. We began by partnering with the Ottawa Network for Education (ONFE), providing $225,000 annually in support of their local School Breakfast program.
Now we’ve have partnered with the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) to help even more children in the community.
Together, we identify children and families who need support in neighbourhoods across Ottawa. Our programs help caregivers put food on the table and buy household necessities, basic furniture and other vital resources.

In 2023, our 6-month pilot of a new CPF/OPS program made the following impact:

0 helmetsProcured 60 new bike helmets for children in need -
0 campersFunded 10 summer camp field trips for 300 children in marginalized neighbourhoods -
0 car seatsSupplied 13 car seats to vulnerable newcomers to Canada -
0 food basketsDistributed 100 food baskets to struggling families during the holiday season
With the success of the pilot, Capital Prosperity Foundation has committed to a 3-year program with Ottawa Police Services.
We are very proud that $0.86 of every dollar donated goes to local programs
With the help of our partners at Ottawa Police Service, we can deliver programs and initiatives that provide tangible help to children and families across the community.
Our goal is to raise $250,000 per year for 3 years so we can support 20,000 children in marginalized communities across Ottawa.

Gift card gives a boost after house fire devastates mother and two children
“The Walmart gift card gave me the freedom to buy food items that the food bank could not provide, hygiene products, and a small treat for my kids. I immediately started planning what to buy—mayo to make egg sandwiches, laundry soap to remove the smoke smell from our clothes, and snacks for the upcoming week. “Today, I encountered a family that arrived from Congo three days ago—a mother with her two children. They lacked housing and were temporarily staying with another Congolese family. The mother told me they barely had any money. Her son was wearing a ripped shirt and her daughter’s clothing didn’t fit.
